Default Advice about shows, please?

Hi, I am a new member, and have just got a Border Terrier puppy (female) aged 7 weeks. Now I know that its far too early to be talking about shows and such like, but its connected with spaying, and that IS something I need to think about. I don't plan to breed her, as she is mainly a family dog that we can take camping, walks, etc.

My question is, what kind of shows can she take part in if she is spayed? I was thinking of fun things, like agility. I can't find any info on Google or the KC, so....I hope you guys can help?

Thanks

Agility, terrier racing, if she is good at retrieving she can take part in a scurry, terrier shows attached to your local point to point or hunt club.

Although we live in a rural area there isn't a lot that we can take part in. We had to travel over 60 miles to the local game fair last summer. I didn't take part in any of the events although next year I might enter Manny for the lure coursing as he is very much sight driven.

There are also companion shows that take place in all sorts of odd places which can be great fun if you don't take them seriously. It can be as much fun people watching as it is showing off your dog!

Oh that's grand, thank you. I'm glad there is more out there than I realised. I have read online about Earth Trials, which only happen in the US (perhaps unoffically in the UK) and I don't really like that idea - it looks frustrating for the dog and horrifying for any small animal. Agility and fun stuff is ideal for us. Thanks again.
