Default Take your dog for a jog

How many of you are joggers? Do you take your dog with you? This is a great way to give your dog the exercise it needs. I don't take my dog out jogging with me more than a few times a week. I don't think doing it daily is a good idea, but maybe 3 times a week can be beneficial to it's health.

I am a jogger, but I cant take my dogs with me. For some reason once I start running they think I am playing and they start chasing me and jumping on me. I gave up on taking them jogging so we just go for walks everyday.

Walking with our dog at least an hour a day, although some say that walking on a leash is almost no exercise at all for a dog, but I think its better than nothing, unless I can afford to buy him a threadmill so that he can do some running even inside our house.

My Great Dane doesn't care for it. He has a shorter attention span and is still growing, so he likes to sleep more than anything.

My lab on the other hand.. she is always, always with me. We go for daily walks and she is always along.

I always take my dogs for a jog. I enjoyed jogging with them. They also have jogging attire. We do it three times a day. My dogs are really my best friends. We are always together walking, jogging and playing different kind of sports. It's helps them to be more energetic and alive.

Walking them isn't a ton of physical exercise, but it's great mental exercise. I know if I don't take one of my dogs for a walk he's a like a super ball bouncing off the walls! Using those backpacks for them with some weight is really useful too.

I'm in the market for a bike, I'm going to start taking them for bike rides. Just got some cross country skis to do skijoring too.

I am a rookie runner and I take my dog out when I jog/walk, at this point we are just getting used to running together on a leash, we do fine without the leash but I want to make sure we can do it with it.

I take my dog for a short jog in the morning before I go to school, and then we play fetch in the afternoon to burn off her energy. She really loves to run.

I cant jog with my husky. She gets going and she doesnt understand to just jog, once i start to jog its like she wants to just take off full sprint. she is so fast and it just ends up pulling me down the street arms flailing everywhere. So instead i like to take her to a park and let her run on her own or we just walk.

Depending on what type of dog you have, it can be very good for them to go jogging with you. I'm not a jogger but my most recent puppy is a Siberian Husky so I've been training her and myself to run. I know some people stated that can't take their dog because they run ahead, pull, bump into them, etc but a lot of dogs will do this unless you train them.

I also feed my puppy a high protein diet, so she needs that extra exercise.

Yes I jog about two miles every other day with my Yorkie and Toy Poodle. This is them in their "jogging suits"
