wanting to build dog agility equipment
Hi all,
I'm new here and I was looking for plans on how to build jumps, a-frame, tire jump, walk over, teeter, weave poles, etc.
My black lab LOVES agility and I'd like to work with him at home, and maybe even get my other dogs into agility. Anyways if you guys know of any free plans I could use I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks
Gretchen

I've never came across any Agility plans, but I do know about a great Agility Starter Kit.
Good luck and let us know if you find any plans on the interwebs

Do-it yourself agility Equipment
There is a book you can purchase from DogWise.com (the amazon of dog-dom) called "Do It yourself Agility Equipment." IT has equipment plans:
Welcome to Dogwise.com
I strongly recommend that if you are keen on competing (not just playing around in your backyard) that you not scrimp on these items but purchase professionally made:
teeter
dog walk
chute
weave poles
You can save by making your own table and jumps and A-Frame. The items I listed are items that must be weighted properly for safety and are the pieces of equipment that most challenge dogs of all sizes. If you buy professionally made equipment, it will last and you will spend money once and not have to continually invest on repairs and resales.

Hello, i wanted the same so i made my own. I found that it was all so expensive. Make sure u do it safley for the dog and the spaces between all the equipment is big enough. Heres some pics of the stuff i made.
My jumps

Hope this is helpful to u

There are a number of these "starter" kits on the market - one even put out by AKC! For anyone interested in getting a real start (not just young children playing around with the family dog in the backyard), i do not recommend any of these "play kits" "starter kits" "toys r us" type starter kits. Most are very flimsy and many have "equipment" that do not look anything like the real thing. If you are on a budget, better to order the equipment plans from dogwise as mentioned in the thread above, and build your own - out of wood, pvc, steel or aluminum. stay away from these fabric/nylon "kits" - its just mass "made in china" == um. em . . "stuff."
I do sell on my site Pac N Go equipment. This equipment is really made for people traveling to shows and people who need to train in public parks. It's all fabric but it's made by dog professionals (actually, the woman who designed it is active in ring sport events i beleive). I do not recommend the agility and obedience equipment for clubs (with exception of the rally equipment which is not only terrific for clubs, but approved for AKC competition!), but for private people on a budget who may not be able to make the equipment themselves, this is a nice low cost but WELL MADE alternative. The agility accessory Pac 1 is $200 and you get a tire jump, broad jump and 2 regular jumps including that close, in terms of fabric approximations, to what you would find in the "real" stuff:

Building agility equipment set can be a little time and effort consuming. If you have the extra budget, you might as well want to buy agility training kits. Most of them also come with agility training course design suggestions which you can follow for your pet's training
