Default Biking w/ Dog

I tried riding my bike and having my husky on his leash and it worked pretty well. Although sometimes he'd try to pull me or move out in front of me and almost be touching the front tire.

I looked into the thing that ties your dog to the back tire but it's actually kind of expensive. Are any of you capable of biking with your dog confidently? If so, how did you do it?

My Huskies are trained to pull up front so I attach a 2 dog line (available from anyone who sells sled dog equipment) to the front of the bike. The dogs wear a x-back harness (used for sledding). If running 1 dog I attach both lines to the harness, if 2 then one line to each dog and a neckline attached to the collars keeping both dogs together. If running a single dog I would advise either to use a harness with a bally strap or I attach a neckline to the collar then to the harness just in case the dog backs out of the harness. I find this works really well, the dogs are happier up front and I can speed up or slow down depending on how quickly the dogs want to run. You can teach the dogs their gee and Haw commands for turning left and right, some dogs pick this up very quickly.

Hmmm...That sounds too complicated to me. LOL I would just like to know how to simply have them run beside the bike without pulling me over.
