Default Constant scratching.

One of my dogs is constantly scratching and biting himself, and starting to get some bald spots. I gave him a flea bath again yesterday and found only three fleas. I don't know if the problem is mosquitos or some sort of allergy. It seems like I have heard of a product that can be put on dogs to prevent them from biting themselves, but I do not recall what it is.

My dog has been doing that this year as well. She scratches her back under the edge of the coffee table and has given herself bald patches. I used Revolution on her for the fleas, and I haven't seen any on her in a while, but she's still doing it. She's terrified of water, so baths are more exciting than they need to be. Any suggestions gratefully received.

it sounds like an allergy to me. My sister's golden retriever has the same problems. She spent a lot of money getting allergy tests. So you can go that route. It's expensive, but it will tell you what the dog is allergic to. You can try switching dog foods. There are some good posts on food options in the nutrition forum. I would recommend finding food without the common allergens: corn and wheat. You may not see improvement immediately with a diet change. It can take 6 months or longer. I like Nature's Variety premium brand dog food. It is supposed to help dogs and cats who have food allergies. You could also try feeding a raw diet.
