hello all
we are training our dog {holly ) at obedience class, as we progress she doesn't respond to to my wife as much as she does me.Is this a common thing??
When my wife addresses her when I'm there she looks at me. Maybe for reinforcement??. Anyways My wife is getting upset with this.What do you think????
Yes a dog will look to its leader before doing anything, and she is not above the dog, in the dogs eyes. Your wife could start taking over alot of things. Feeding, walking, and of course what you are both trying to teach the dog. Also she should give a lot of praise for any behavior that your dog actually does for her correctly. Good Luck!

Yes, your wife just needs to reinforce the fact that she is just as much in charge as you are. It seems your dog has picked you as the pack leader & doesn't see your wife as one. Your dog just needs reinforcement.
