Default A bit frustrated....

Hi everyone, we have an 18 week old yellow lab that we adopted at 8 weeks from our local shelter. She is a really good dog. However, she has had a UTI and vaginosis and has already been spayed due to health issues. She is finishing up a course of antibiotics now. She pees in her crate during the day and the last 2 nights. She was making it through the night now she isn't.
I dont understand. She is wonderful in the house and rings her bell.
I have now reduced the size of her crate and will see what happens tonight.
Any suggestions?

Well I called her vet and he said that when she was boarded this past weekend she didnt have any accidents. I am just supposed to finish her medicine and see. I am getting so worried and I am trying not to act it because I know she can sense it. Any other advice other than to wait?

You say she's only 18 mos old. She's already been spayed and has had vaginal infection and uti. maybe it was a little too much for her system to handle. If she was clean and made the night before the spay it could be that the sphincter muscle was weakened and she is just pooling. did you notice if she was sleeping and woke up in her pee? That would indicate pooling. You say she is good in the house and rings her bell, did you notice if she asks more often than she usually did? If it doesn't clear up, yes, I would return to the vet's.

Well I got up to go to the bathroom and she heard me. So I am figuring that she thought it was time to go out and peed when I didnt come.
The vet said she should be fine. Whatever. He kinda drives me nuts sometimes.

That was pretty crappy. Thank goodness you found it. Riley is such a good dog. I just want this to work out for us. We lost our golden in september of 9 years. It was sudden. Anyway, I will keep you posted. Thanks again for the advice.
