Default Puppy madness

OMG this puppy is driving me nuts. My question is while I'm eating my meals or doing some paper work, is it all right to put the dog in the bathroom?

Yes it is fine. They need time alone as well. Don't feel bad. When my pup has had enough stimulation or vice versa she takes a nap in her crate for a bit.

Maybe, buy a crate? Put your pup in, after taking it outside to do, you know. Look up crate training, it is the best for pups and it does work!

All puppies go through this stage! Mine did! I thought maybe I made a mistake but this stage is common. Try training your puppy for 5mins each day. Do one command a week so not to confuse your puppy. I go in this order: Come, Sit, Down, Stay, and Heel. You need lots of patience so if you get frustraded, stop and start later in the day.

Hi. I too am training a few new pups. It's never too young to train! They're really alot like kids. They love schedules. Crate training is a MUST in my opinion. Lots of info on the web for it too. Dogs actually enjoy the crate. They don't enjoy being locked in a bathroom though. Ya'd think they'd like it better but...Start out with the crate were the pup can see you and correct the pup with each whine or bark. Soon they'll get thew idea and be content to stay quietly and you can move the crate if ya want. Also make sure the pup has had everything it needs first. Food, water, fun and exercise!!! And be sure to bring pup out when it wakes. This is also the best way to housebreak a puppy or even a grown dog. A good cheap easy to find book on training is "Dog training for Dummies". Walmart even sells it. Some very good advice in it. It's a lot of work and will try your nerves but there's almost nothing better than a well trained dog.!! Good Luck!!

Default Crates Rock!

My dog loves her crate! She'll go in it whenever she needs to sleep or when she's been bad and tries to hide the evidence in her crate! Dogs are den creatures so a crate makes them feel safe and gives them a place to call thier own. It is very helpful in housebreaking since dogs won't pee or poop where they sleep. Many people think that crating a dog is mean and they feel bad for the dog but as long as you let the dog out every couple of hours and don't keep them in there too long, crating is great!
