So far as I know Alsatians/German Shepherds are more easy to train. They have keen sense of spatial perception and higher intellectual quotient as most dogs. They also possess suitable body structure.

I would say any dog is easy to train as long as it's done with love and kindness and in their own was all dogs are intelligent. If I had to pick I would have to say the choice is between a collie, labrador, alsation or jack russell. I have a blue marl collie and at 4 years old she is still picking up new tricks, it took an hour to teach her 'roll over' last month. Collies listen when you talk to them, know how to turn on a 'not me!' look when they steal some food from under you nose, mine is starting to be really protective of me...the list goes on. Farmers use them as sheep dogs and it's great to see a collie when they're working.

Gsd's are fun but owning one and also a Jack Russell, my JRT was easier. Why? I don't know, except that she wanted to be focused on us, and our GSD didn't really care. He has learned but more the hard way, as compared to our JRT.
