My dog and me have dabbled in agility as well. My best advice is to do a course We went once a week and got taught by instructors on how to do it and it was incredibly helpful. I would still not be 100% confident to try and train Chip at home by myself without some guidance. We need to start back at classes(just need to organize myself more hehe) Good luck it is fun

Just make sure that you have a Vet check for Agility, to make sure that his joints can take the process. Good Luck, it is fun!!
