I used to have a ferret that would get in the toilet if you forgot to put the seat down does that count? haha
I just wonder why anyone would try to teach a dog to use the toilet it's bad enough with men missing(I live with 3 guys) let alone the dog assisting in the situation hehe

I guess... although ive never heard or seen it done... i guess you will have to train him like if you were training him to go outside to use the bathroom... I have no clue... i dont see that working at all!! =) good luck to you with that one!! =)

Yes but it is extremely difficult. It seems to be against their nature to not mark their territory. Cats learn to use the toilet much better than dogs. You need a special flusher for both of them.

I think it might be because I have heard of a cat using a toilet.

For drinking purposes yes, for potty purposes, it would take a lot of co-ordination on the dogs part and you would either have to have a push button on top or a string off the handle to teach flushing.

Don't know about the toilet, but my dog is litterbox trained so that might be an alternative for you.

I know someone who trained her HORSE to use the toilet! (They were miniature horses that lived inside) I have NO idea how to do it, (I've never had this come up...odd) but I think people who do it are so awesome to tackle that huge task!
