...trained? when he comes inside the house he gets really jumpy and he bites everything. but he doesnt have any problems. I take him to the vet 3 times a yr.

Find yourself a reputable dog trainer, and take him for training. This behaviour will not correct itself left unchecked.

Enrol him at dog classes.They not only get trained on how to be 'good citizen dogs' but it is also a good social evening out for your dog so he can meet and play with other dogs.

Sound as if he's outside most the time?? Well if that is the case he will always go nuts when he gets the chance to come in! Living outside keeps an animal more in-touch with their wild instincts compared to a dog that lives inside and only goes out for bathroom! Its Hard to teach an old dog new tricks,, At 5 years old it's the owners fault that the dog still does this! Sorry, but a dog takes time , esp inside the first year , to train them ! I'm not saying he can't be trained now, but you made your job about 5 times harder! Taking your dog to the vet does not teach him obedience,, ?? Confused ??
