collie - amazingly fast runner. He has not been trained? other than to chase balls and frisbees. I am sure he could outrun any greyhound or other fast breed. I live in the North East. Does anyone know of competitions nearby?

this goes for any dog, be it a racing breed or not, there are three main things you have to do before you go and race your dog:* he MUST be trained before he races so he wont hert himself* you MUST take him to a vet before training and before evry race, be it a young dog or not, to make sure that he is in tip top shape* your dog MUST wear the proper equipment (wristbands,etc.)to make sure that he does not spran something while in a race and finally, it is wise not to race a dog under 2 years old because there bone structor is not strong enough yet.iam not a professional but i do know a lot about dogs
