Default At my witts end!! Dog training problems!!?

My 6 month old Yorkie pup is not letting me know that she has to potty when she is allowed to roam the house. When She is in the crate, she will bark and such. But if she is not in the crate, and let's say walking around the kitchen, she would squat right in front of me!! How can I get her to give me a signal that she has to go? Are my expectations too high? Is this a respect issue??Other info:She is alone about 4 hours a day 3 days a week. During that time, she is in the spacious laundry room with her crate and water and a peepee pad. She has numerous toys and we leave the tv on so she doesnt get lonely. she doesnt have accidents on the floor as long as she has the pad.

When you take her out, do you always use the same door? Do you make a comment, the same everytime like, Wanna go out? Those are clues for her, and soon, you will see her start towards the door, she may not make it, but you have to be a hawk and watch really carefully!

Yorkies are little dogs and will have to go often. I take my adult yorkie outside every few hours, and when I was training him I would do it evey 30 minutes.
He never tells me if he has to go out, but if I ask him, "Gotta go potty" or "Gotta go outside" He'll start running in circles around me, not the door if he has to. Make a huge deal of the word "Outside" when you take her out so she'll figure out what you are meaning.
Yorkies can be hard to house train, it sounds like you are on the right tract since shes so good while you are gone with the potty pads.
