Default How to train a dog to stay in the yard...?

We have a golden retriever mix that we adopted from a shelter when she was about 1-2 years old. She is a great dog except that she will run away whenever given the chance. She does very well while on the leash but as soon as she senses freedom, she bolts. Any suggestions?we already have a fence, but I would just love to have her walk around the rest of the yard with me without her running away

Ele fence or underground fence works pretty good but at that age I dont know if you can border train her with a leash like a 6-9 month old pup

Invisible Fencing. Unfortunately I think she's probably beyond the point of training to trust that she will remain in the yard alone. My sister has a golden and she too had wondering problems so they go the invisible fencing which has worked great. The electrical cord (fence) that lined the property has been dysfunctional for 3 years now (lawn mower ran it over) but the dog doesn't know it and hasn't left the yard once.

Shock collar. I have a mastiff that likes to jump my fence and that was the only solution I found that worked. It is a product from a company called Petsafe. It has a wireless system that puts out a magnetic field in an adjustable radius from the controller. The collar beeps twice before it shocks and the shock level is adjustable, so when they get accustomed to it you can turn the level down to a slight shock or just the beeps and no shock. I've felt the shock just to test it out and it's not real bad, definitely not enough to be inhumane. It works great and has saved me a lot of worrying and headaches, not to mention loss of sleep trying to find him in the middle of the night.
