Just big enough for the dog to get into, lay down, and turn around: there shouldn't be any empty space where the dog could go to the bathroom and not have to lay in it.

just big enough that he can turn around in. you dont want it too big that they have room to make a "mess" on one end and sleep at the other. you should also only keep them in the crate for 1 hour for every month old they are. So for a 6 month old dog, they can stay in there up to 6 hours.

you want her to feel safe.( Cuddled) it shouldn't be much bigger than she.enough room to spread out and turn around and that's it. if the small one is still big a pillow stuffed in there is great!

big enough for them to stand up, turn around and lie down in - no bigger because they'll have the urge to eliminate in it, no smaller because it's uncomfortable and would not only cause them pain during the day, but also make it harder for you to get the dog to go into the crate.
