I have a 9 wk old boxer. When we put him in his crate around 12am for bed he seems to do fine until around 3 am. At that point he starts to cry, howl, and claw at the door to no end. It gets to the point where my girlfriend takes him to the living room to sleep with her.
Any advice on where the crate should be?
Should we ignore the screaming and crying no matter how long or bad it gets? I'm worried it's making him hate the crate and is starting to be afraid of it.

Any advice is appreciated.

You should have the crate in your bedroom so that the pup knows were you are and that then he can tell you if he needs to go. If he needs to go and no one pays attention, then he will have to go in his crate. Is that what you want?
