Default Too late to train my dog?

I have a Shepard/Collie named Lola. She just turned 1 and has been paper trained.I want to get her to start using the bathroom outside. What is the best approach? Is it too late?

it's not too late, don't lose hope.Take her paper out with you so she knows to go there.Walk your dog more often, and punish her when she goes inside.

Start taking her out hourly and praise her for going potty outside. Do not hit or rub her nose in her mistake inside of the house this is abuse no matter what anyone says. She's not to old to be trained it just takes time and lots of patients.

i think it is never too late to train a dog for going outside. i have a yorkie and he was abused before coming to me. i trained him to let me know when he wanted to be let out..i started by watching his actions (wigging tail, going around in circle) going back and forth to the door. i also started using 1 words commands like pee pee and pointing towards the door. this worked for me. of course on rainy days he may not want to go out i put paper down. they tend not to go out much and get their paws wet. hope this helps

It is never too late to teach a dog anything (unless physically unable of course). Your best bet would probably be to slowly start moving the paper towards the door and eventually outside, but don't move it all at once or she'll probably just pee where the paper used to be (but with no paper!) There are no guarentees that it will work of course becuase it depends on how comfortable she is outdoors. If where you would take her is near a lot of noise or strange activity she might just refuse to go. If she doesn't like to go outside it will be especially difficult but still possible with a lot of patience and plenty of carpet spray!
