That was the exact name I was think of. That's crazy. Although I was thinking of Reese.Be patient with your dog. In due time. Be sure to rub the belly and give treats!

Nah, you don't need a gentle leader. You can train him easily. Hold food on the ground in front of him. When he lies down to eat it, say "down" and praise.Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Well, repeat, anyway.

A entle Leader is for leash training a dog that pulls. It would be no help to you to teach your dog down. You need to get into some basic obedience classes. They can teach you how to train the dog and it provides wonderful socialization for the dog and a nice distraction that will teach the dog to look to you for guidance in any situation.

I've found that using a "choke" collar works very well; I used it a lot when I was doing dog training.I have a question for you: have you taught the dog to sit yet? If not, work on the "sit" command before the "down" command.
