jack russell, have tried colla my frined is out to work all day and her jack russell is barking nearly all day. she has tried an anti bark collar but that did not work. any ideas on what she can do?

She should give the dog to someone who can care for it properly. A dog should not be left at home on its own all day

Let it run the streets... We have a jack russel. And the funny thing about it, Pit Bull's are even scared of it.... Probarbly because my little jack knows it owns the street....

its cruel to leave dogs on their own all day they need to socialise be round people if she cant be there she needs to re home the dog its not happy

You should ask your friend why she got a dog if she intended to leave it alone all day. I think she is really mean.

Keep the bark collar on, it will work. Be sure it has fresh batteries.

Put radios on any where the dog has access to. It mightbe less bored if it thinks there is someone else in the house.Have you ever been in the house on your own with no noise - it is spooky.

Report her to the council dog warden, as her poor little dog is being neglected, causing itself great distress and the neighbours. This seems harsh, but the warden should be trained in dealing with these situations and will hopefully provide her with advise/support on training and care of her dog.

The dog is lonely & as dogs have such good hearing its probably calling out to other dogs.I would try leaving the telly on.
