She knows not to do it where she sleeps, if you keep her in a Kennel or tied to where she is laying down downstairs she wont go where she is laying down. Problem is you have her out of your site, ........... Your not around to say NOTry feeding her only a little bit when you are not a around and more just before you take her out it sounds like you have not encouraged her when she is outside to go.I tell my dog to go because I want to go back inside and she does when she wants to go out she whines sometimes going to the door even waking me up. When she does have to pee she has the good sens to do it on the kitchen tile not on the rug where it is easy cleanup.Praise her when she goes When you take her out and she goes and praise lavishlyPLEASE DONT BE OFFENDED But you need traing not the dog, she is doing her part by not doing it in your bed or upstair.Its about the tone of your voice that tells her the right and the wrongand I dont mean being irate just very firm, because it is in her instinct to please you.Sorry if it is a he aor a she as I dont think you distinguihed your dogs gender. Good luck ! Buy a video or read a book for some Ideas,....... I did and if you follow their instruction you can suceedOH AND EVERYTIME YOU CLEAN UP AFTER HER YOU HAVE TO SAY "no' NOT HEREAnd take her outside and praise her pointing to where she should go dogs are intelligent animals and do catch on good luck with this, this ideas and any you may p/u here an elsewhere put the time in and you both will be happier Good luck to you !OH AND BY THE WAYBabies are potty trained and dogs are House broken LOL !;pOH you did say your dog was a she my bad !
