what the techer teached my dog first was to sit.first u get a treat that your dog likes and keep the treat in the air and move the treat back and back until your dog sees the treat and sits down.Then when she is seated u give her the treat. If u want her to stay make sure she is still sitting or u can push her but doen and tell her to stay with the treat in your hand.Do not give her the treat until she stops moving.Remeber to say stay a few times so she knows what you want her to do.

Find a good trainer. Research the trainer and make sure he/she fits with how you want to train. My favorite book .. Carol Lee Benjamin "Mother Knows Best". Yes, it is about dogs. Simple to read, easy to understand, good training tips.

I would go to a place that teaches you how to train your dog with positive reinforcements by treats and praise. Petsmart is a good place to go.

actually you should get a dog training book. dog training for dummys is an ok book. if you can find one for shiba inu it would be better. some dogs train diffrently cause of their breed.
