Default I have spent 9 months training my dog, he does NOT have bladder problems?

I cannot take him out every half hour, I have a life too. He is out in the garden with the door open so he can come in when he wants. He is praised when he does it in the yard and he seems proud of himself. Then, when I'm not looking he does another peep right on the carpet by the OPEN DOOR. I cannot handle his misbehviour in the house I'm moving to. It will have Oriental carpets, and there is a back yard and I hope he just won't dig up the plants...as he has done in the rental we are in now. I'm seriously thinking of giving him away....

Will I believe that finding the dog a better home does sound the best idea! The dog should be with someone that can devote time to it. Maybe they can solve the problem.P.

When I potty trained my inside dog, I would let him outside to potty and I would not let him back in until he did potty then as soon as he did I brought him back inside and praised him. That way he knows that he's out there to potty and that's where pottying should be done, not in the house. Also if he pottied in the house, I know sounds mean, but I would rub his nose in it... just a little though.. barely even touched the carpet. But he learned and it didn't take him long at all. As far as the plants, a dog is like a child when they do something wrong they have to know that it's wrong and whatever is decided for punishment should be consistent everytime he needs to be punished. Make the punishment immediately following digging otherwise the dog may not associate the digging to be bad, he/she may think it's associated with something else. Good luck! =)
