Fun is the name of the game when training, your dog will let you know when he or she has had enough training for that session. Don't always use treats, positive praise is wonderful too, let your dog have what it wants most, your attention and praise. I agree watch the Dog whisperer on National Geographic. Depending on the breed some dogs need more repitition than others, mental stimulation is far better than physical stimulation for using up that energy but break up the training sessions. Most of all be consistent in your training, don't send mixed messages and confuse your dog. Good luck and enjoy, pets are wonderful friends and companions.
