Default Is it me or are male dogs easier to train?

I have four dogs....one male and one female Pomeranian & one male and one female American Eskimo. The boys seem to be great at going on the potty pads where the girls don't. They have an attitude like, "Nah, we'll go where we want!"Does it really make a difference by the sex of your dog or is it just my pets in particular?I am not being sexist or anything....this is something I've noticed and it baffles me. They've all been trained the same and loved equally. I don't get it.

Hmmm, maybe because the females are bit*ches? ;-)

ive got 2 border collies. one male one female.the male was easier to house train, but the female, by far was easier to train. she has been a dream.the male has been alot slower picking things up. and his teenage period is alot worse than the females.i think it is different for different dogs tbh

I agree that it depends on the dog. We have had both and I have not noticed a pattern.

When it comes to training a dog, the single most important thing to consider is the type or breed of dog. Certain breeds are easier to train while other breeds may not possess the intellect or desire to be trained. It is true that breeds differ in behavior but ultimately some breeds are instinctively more obedient then others. There's really no accounting for why some dogs, even from the same litter, male or female, are easier to train than others, the personality factors, their relationship with their owners and/or presence of other pets will all factor into the equation.Don't know if it will help but what you're experiencing is common. Since it's just the females who are misbehaving, try to give them extra attention, don't lose your patience.

in my own personal experience, females have been a lot easier to train. all the female dogs i've had are not as stubborn and playful as the male ones.
