Default How can I train my dog?

I want her to be able to do the basic sit, stay, down, come all the time, and would like to teach her some tricks, like roll over, shake hands etc. Any tips?

when i taught my dog how to sit i'd take a treat, and hold it right above their nose and keep lifting it and she'd follow it until her butt was sitting and i'd say SIT and give her the treat. it worked well.

as a guide dog raiser i can tell you my best advise--never, ever hit or punish your dog by yelling or spanking!!!! dogs love their owners affections and praise--remember to always praise,by touch and enthusiastic voices your dogs achievements and simply ignore the behaviors that do not please you. remember in a dogs mind, like that of a small child, any attention is better than no attention, so give praise where recognition is due and ignore the rest. this will prompt good behavior and obedience in expectations of praise attention and love. Good luck and be kind-remember, dog is mans best (and most loyal) friend!!!

I would research trainers in your area find the one you like. You can ask your vet if they know of anyone. That's what I've done with my pup then you are also learning from a professional. You can bring the whole family so they can learn to be pack leaders as well.
