Your dog must have a very high prey drive. Some breeds, especially hounds and hunting breeds, are bred to have a high prey drive. Even a mutt with a mix of one of these breeds can inherit the strong prey drive. It's very difficult to train "out" of a dog, because it is so much a part of him. I would suggest the help of a professional dog trainer or dog behaviorist-either one would be able to evaluate your dog, to see whether it is behavior that can be trained out of him or not, and give you suggestions and help on how to do this without hurting other animals in the process.

try this trick.get a bottle of water (a drink bottle)and take it with you on a walk. keep your dog on a lead, start by walking your dog a short distance away from other animals. if your dog reacts IE. barks, growls,or pulls at the lead, squirt the dog on the bridge of the nose and shout NO, then pull the dog with you in opposite direction. TRUST ME YOUR DOG WILL NOT LIKE IT!!!. You will have to repeat it a few times but your dog will start to associate his/her reaction to other animals with a quick soaking!! IT DOES WORK....our dog was attacking everything that went past him, now he walks off the lead and if he does growl or bark... all we have to do is show him the bottle
