Because your dog will be a service dog I suggest you have the training professionally done so that you're certain she is trained properly. Service dog training is much more complex than teaching simple obedience, as I'm sure you're aware. You might want to ask around at different trainers and see if they would let you be there during the training so that you can help out. They may, or may not, allow this. Some trainers, I believe, prefer to train the animal away from the owner as the dog tends to misbehave less and training goes faster. At the very least the trainer should take the time to get to know you and what specifically you need and expect from a service dog.I would assume that you *could* train her even if you're deaf, however the professional will do it much more quickly than you could do yourself and they'll be sure to train her with exactly what she needs in order to help you out.Good luck!
