I have a Dalmatian and they r known for having hearing problems so while my husband and I was training him we did hand signals for him too. What we did was make up anything u think would be easy for him to see. Like to sit we snapped our finger and pointed down to the ground. To lay down we held our hand out flat and pushed down towards the ground with it. to roll over we pointed our finger and swirled it in the air.To stand up we pointed up will our thumb. So that should be a good enough examples for u to start with. When u train him to do all this stuff u have to show him as well. So when u tell him to sit point down with ur finger and make him sit at the same time. He should learn that one really fast .

my sister had a deaf dog. we recently moved in together and she told me to use exagarated hand signals and facial expressions. she said you have to make her see what you want with you body language and everything has to be exagrated. she is a very well behaved dog too.
