Any suggestions on pooping problem

Hi My dog poops in the house when I leave. Not only when I leave. Yesterday when my boyfriend came home from work and jumped in the shower I went in there and to talk to him and shut the door behind me. I was in there for maybe a couple minutes and she peed outside the door. She is housebroken. She goes outside when we are home. But when we leave she pinches one off quick. How do I stop this. I live in an apartment and I can't have her going to the bathroom everywhere. One of my friends suggested a crate so I quess I'm gonna try that. But I was just wondering if there was anything else that worked for anyone. Thanks
