I have potty trained dogs in the amtter of a week when I have used my "method." The most important times to watch him is after eating and right when he wakes up. When you take him outside make sure it is through the same door everytime, that way he gets use to a routine. After he eats watch him if he starts sniffing around HURRY and take him outside, stay outside to make sure he uses the restroom and when he does call him a good dog and give him a treat. But if you can't catch in time and he goes in the house, rub his nose in it spank him and put him outside and call him a bad dog. (make sure your tone of voice is diffently different between good dog and bad dog.) Right when he wakes up take him it. his blatter will have time to have filled over the night, even if it is like3 or 4 o'clock in the morning. (at night its is better to keep him in a dog kennel (crate). but never use the crate if he has done something wrong, only put him in there for bed time, and when he wakes up he will whine much like a baby. Hurry and take him outside, most dogs won't use the restroom where the sleep, and when he does use the restroom outside praise and treat. its alwasy worked for me in the matter of a week, but u have to make sure its the same door and dogs much like people learn off of praise and when you treat them (since dogs don't know what your saying) the really know they did something right.
