Default How can you train a dog to stay in an un-fenced yard?

Just so you know, he would be their for semi-long periods of time. (Such as during the day when at school.)

yu are subjecting the dog too cruelty, shoot it and put it out of its misery.too many people have pets, cant be bothered training them,(NO TIME),so do the rite thing for the poor thing and either kill it or give it to someone who has time ,patience etc to do the rite thing.

Yea dude, you need a fence. If you don't have one or can't find or make one, put your dog in a crate or somewhere enclosed. Without a fence, someone could take the dog, someone could injure your dog, your dog could run away, your dog could injure someone else, and all of these things are not good. I agree with the other person, you're asking for a lawsuit.

If you don't want a regular fence, you could try an invisible fence. Or, you could take your dog outside with you when you go out, so he will know to just hang around the yard. To start training you dog you could get a portable fence then when you feel comfortable take it away. When you let your dog out and your at home if he starts walking away scold your dog so he will get the idea. If you know your neighbors pretty well, you could ask them to check and make sure your dog is in your yard from time to time.
