I would say yes, it is okay to send a puppy to obedience training, but if you do, please research the trainer(s) well, and try to be present while the training is going on.Also, ask around, in your local area, and such. Local breeders or veterinarians may be able to direct you to reputable obediance schools or trainers.

It depends on what type of dog you have and what age it is. If you have a young small dog, it might not be a great idea, since the other dogs would overpower it and possibly make it feel threatened. However, if you have a 5 month old great dane, its already going to be the same size as the other dogs.Usually puppy training and dog training go over the same things, they just split them up by ages to make things more low stress.

If u want your dog to be very obedient, then u can send it there. If u want to train your dog yourself and help create a better bond between each other, keep it away from school. DONT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY ABOUT THE SCHOOL!If u meet anyone who tries to make you go there because they were there, ask for proof

It depends on the nature of the puppy. If the puppy is shy or very small, bringing the puppy to an obedience class might be overwhelming. If the other dogs are particularly large or in danger of becoming fierce towards the puppy, it might not be a good idea.I would suggest that you try using some simple operant conditioning with your dog before enrolling him or her in obedience training. Give the puppy a treat if she or he does something you like (e.g. going poo outside, getting off the couch when asked, etc.). If the dog does something you don't like, put the dog in time out, like in a crate. Be consistent with this training. This simple behavior training may help. If not, then try obedience training.Hope this is helpful,Miche

Yes. the sooner you get your pet in some kind of training the better he or she will be.You are training your pet every day, doint expect him too attack or anything at an early age but he will respond.

don't "send", TAKE. You need to be trained as well. Make sure it has had enough parvo prevention shots, then the two of you go and have a great time!

I have had my dog for 7 years and she still obeys the commands that she learned in her puppy obedience class when she was 11 weeks old! I think it is the best idea! It will make your dog much easier to live with. Obedience will also make your dog more welcome wherever you take him/her.Everyone loves a well behaved Dog!! Good Luck! Rose

Brilliant idea! Speak to the people who run the school you'd like to attend, they vary in age that the dog needs to be for them to train it.
