that's my parents biggest fear & i wanna make sure that i can train them to pee in a specific place

My husband and I used puppy pads for out min pin puppy. By 10 weeks he was paper trained. We basically just fed him, let him get a good drink of water. After a few minutes we would walk him over to the pads and get him position in the middle of it. Then we would tell him "go potty" and point to the area. We would stand back and give him some room. If he roamed off the pad we would put him back. When he went, we praised him. In the beginning, if he went on his own, without us leading him, we would give him a treat with praise again. Eventually he picked up on the habit and now he's 2 years old, no accidents. Expect accidents in the beginning though, it takes some time for a habit to develop. Just be consistent.

After your pup/dog eats or drinks, about 15 minutes, take it out to pee or what ever, when you take it out, take it to the same spot every time. Repetition is KEY. If you take it to the same spot every time it's time to "go" it will eventually catch on. Always praise your pup when it goes, "Good Pee Pee""Good Poo Poo" it will associate your words to the job it's doing. When it's time to go out and you get to the toilet spot you say "let's go poop""let's go pee".My dogs go in the same spot every time, everyday.

we trained my dog to one area of the yard. it helps that we didn't have a fence and have to take her out on a leash anyway. but it actually worked. when she's out roaming with us outside or if we have a party and just let her mingle, she'll go to her spot. lots of praising ensues.
