Help!! Potty Training a Mini Pin I just got this adorable Miniature pinscher to add to our little family in our apartment. We named him tweak cause he twitches in his sleep. lol, Anyways when we got him about 3 days ago. His original owners have been using potty pads with him and said that they worked very well. But when I tried they didn't work whatsoever. After a couple walks now he has decided going pee outside is okay but he still thinks he has full rein of the house and has quite a bit of accidents if I let him out to long. We are working on this with crate training, in which he whines but each time the whining gets shorter. But he still refuses to go # 2 outside and I try to make a schedule by feeding him at certain times but he is a lazy eater and can take an hour or so to eat 1 serving. He is such a litlle speedy that when he has an accident I cannot catch him in time to take him to the pad or outside and by the time i do catch him he thinks we are playing and dosent get why im taking him there. If im lucky I can catch him in the act and make a sound to disturb him, but thats the exten of my abilities to stop him. I know though not to get mad after the fact and just to suck it up. Which ive been doing alot of. He is such a great dog though, and I was just hoping to get some tips on how to handle toy dog potty training. Please help!! Thank you!! |
