Unhappy Barking Problem - Citronella Bark Collar?

Hi All,

I have a serious barking problem with my dog and I'm at my wits end. I have done some research and I'm leaning towards a citronella bark collar because it seems to be the the most humane solution.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

Thanks!

These collars absolutely work. They are harmless (as far as I'm aware, not being a scientist or anything. lol) and they don't leave any odor or stains anywhere. We originally bought one for our larger dog about four years ago, but stopped using it as of about two years ago when we moved into a "dog friendly" community where everyone owns a dog- people can't complain about barking here because it's impossible to tell where it's coming from!!! lol

Now, I think shock collars -on the other hand- are without question inhumane but whoever invented the citronella collar, in my opinion, deserves a Nobel Prize.

if you are there when he is doing any of this - a well pointed water bottle works very well too. just one of those spray bottles from the dollar store & you don't have to hit them in the face either.

it is a distraction. I usually catch mine on the back as he runs to HIS window. stops him immediately

I've also noticed that most pet lovers i know prefer citronella bark training collars to train their pets but whatever dog training collar you will choose you should fully understand first how it works before using it or ask somebody who have used it for tips and advice.
