i have an shepherd mix.she is 4 months old.ive had her for a month now..my problem is she barks and growls at people.if she got close enough to them im afraid she would bite. what to do.

train your dog... expose her more to get used to it..

have you tried obedience training???

The most important thing to do is to begin socializing your puppy. Gradually introduce her into new environments so that she can get used to a variety of people at her own pace.

My dog used to do that to but know she knows the right from the wrong because everytime she would do something wronge i would spray water in her face to teach her obedience.

We actually got a dog when she was id say around..... 2 years old. And it was to late for her, shes naturally scared of people now. But our other dogs behave great around people because they were brought up that way. My advice is since she is still young and while she is still young bring the dog to places were people can pet her, talk to her, give her treats, etc. Like go to petsmart or a pet store were dogs are aloud. Or to the park, just anywere dogs can go and there are people who are willing to pet your dog. When and if the dog barks at people say firmly "Bad Dog!" However when the dog is being good, praise the dog and give it treats. It takes time and practice. The sooner the better because the older the dog gets the more harder it will get to train it.
