Default dirty Puppy

help. My 8 month old puppy has begun pooping in his crate at night or very early morning and he doesn't care!!! he just sits and lays in it. He has never been vocal about letting you know when he has to go... so wake up in the morning to the pleasant aroma and a dirty dog. His last wlak is between 10:30 - 11:00 pm. His morning walk is between 6:30 -7:00.

Do you usually walk your dog after eating? Maybe you are leaving your dog inside his crate way too long?

yes, he is walked several times through out the day. I do not think 11pm - 7 am is a very long period of time. He has recently started doing this... there have been no problems from 3 months of age until now

Is there any new things going on in your house in the last three months? Have you checked with the vet about the possibility that there might be a "medical" reason for this to be happening? I had a darling Rotty for seven years, and she wasn't very vocal either...it may be a trait of all Rottys, I'm not sure. But anyway, think about whether or not you have changed anything lately, do you feed the dog at night? If you do, you may want to change it to an earlier time, so he gets the pooping done earlier. Good luck!
