Unhappy shoe chewer. help please?

Signey is relatively well behaved for a shiba puppy, but there is one little bad habit that i have no idea how to break her of..

she loves chewing shoes, especially sandals. and she always manages to find my favorite pairs. she's chewed through half of my friends' sandals, and i've had to replace 2 pairs of rainbows already.

we try to keep all of our shoes put up, but when guests come over they dont always remember to hide their shoes.

ive never had to use any sort of punishment as part of her training. she knows the word 'no', but that really doesnt help when she's already chewed a shoe and moved on by the time ive found it.

anyone have any tips?

Buy her some dog toys which she can chew instead.

Default Shoe chewer

Try this:

Get a pair of older shoes that you don't care about. Spray bitter apple (heavily) on them. Leave the shoes in a place that you know your dog will see them and chew on them. If you can get a couple pair of old shoes to put bitter apple on (you can get bitter apple at most pet stores) grab them and repeat this technique. Quickly the dog will no longer have an appetite for shoes.
