Question Help! to stop him from pooping in the crate!

I was wondering if someone could help me I have a one year old boxer, who has recently started to poop in his crate. We have had him since was was 9 weeks old and he has never pooped in there until about a month ago... We were hoping to have him out of the crate by now but every time we leave out he poops all the over the house.. We take him out regularly when we are home and he does his business every time before we leave, it doesn't matter if we leave for 30 mins. or for 2 hours the result is the same and I am not sure what to try next.

A crate isn’t a magical solution. If not used correctly, a dog can feel trapped and frustrated.
Your puppy must be in his crate whenever he is not eating, drinking, relieving himself, or being actively played with and supervised.
Here's a sample crate-training schedule: puppy goes in the crate for a couple of hours (he'll sleep during most of this time), then out for a toilet session, a meal, and a playtime of one or two hours. Then it's time for another toilet call, and back in the crate for another sleep (should last about two to four hours)
do you wanna learn more in dog crate training?

Thank you very much for your reply.. I did not know that he needed to be in so much, we actually tried to make it so he was not in that often with hopes that he would out grow needing to be in it, but now i will take it slower with trying to get him out of the crate and more used to it. Also thank you for the link it was very helpful.

Default Crate issues

I would guess 95% of dogs using the crate as a bathroom is the size of the crate. The crate itself should only be big enough for the dog to stand up, turn around and lay down. Dogs do not like to go to the bathroom in their crates. Dogs that go in their crate are usually able to go in a corner, then lay down at the other end. My general suggestion is to pick a crate you think is the right size, then buy a size smaller. He should fill the crate, no room for defecating.

And make sure your dog has been let outside, exercised and gone to the bathroom before going in the crate.

I've been through it with my boxer Layla so I've been there! Her problem was she didn't mind laying in it!!

How on earth did you train her not to defecate in her crate if she didn't even mind laying in it???

I have three dogs. I only have one that I am crate training now.
In the morning: take out to do his/her business
when he/she comes back in put the dog in the crate with
their food. after 30 minutes. take the dog out to do their poop.

If you feed them in their crate and give them treats in their crate
they will no poop where they eat and sleep.

It worked for my other two dogs and now It is working for my third.

patience, patience. You will see, it really works.
