Unhappy Personality Clash

Hi, I have three dogs, 6, 2 & 1 year old. The 6 and 1 year old are no problem at all but the 2 year old just hates the 1 year old and attacks him when it is least expected. He can go for weeks even months with nothing then he just attacks all of a sudden. He never ever attacks the other one nor any other dog outside the home zone. He is great with kids too. The other thing he does is the houdini thing - One minute he's there the next he's gone. Over the fence, over the gates. No matter what we do. We love him dearly but feel that he may not always choose to be with us at this rate. Any suggestions?

I'm wondering what breed the dogs are. Could it possibly be he is enforcing his place in the pack by letting the younger dog know he is at the bottom of the pecking order? How big is the dog and how tall is your fence? You might need to get the slanted type of wire fence for the top so he can't( makes it more difficult anyway) climb over

Sorry forgot to mention - 6 yr old Border Collie = an angel. 2 yr old Belgian Collie X = The problem. 1 yr old French Border.

What do these attacks consist of? Flesh wounds? Just Posturing? You say these attacks happen suddenly...is there anything in common between them? Food? People? Isolation? Are the dogs intact? Has any dog punctured skin? If so, did it require a veterinary attention? How do you address the attacks? The Houdini dog, how much stimulation does he or she get in a day? Do these dogs live in your home? Or are they outside dogs?
