Exclamation Introducing aggressive dog to friendly dog

Okay so last Sunday I found a stray dog, she was just laying on my drive way with my brothers, and I kept her a week tried to find her a home but all failed. So my dad let me keep her and now I need to train her. I've taught her to sit but she still needs ALOT more training. I do not have money to get a trainer so I am hoping I can do it myself. Any way the stray dog I took in, Lucy, has never been socialized and is aggressive toward dogs and children. I have another dog that gets along well with every one and everything. Lucy used to growl at my other dog, Brandi, but now she doesnt. I havent put them together or anything but usually if she sees brandi she will growl, she hasnt in a few days. I want to do it the right way by taking them on walks with my sister but my sister has school and she is tired so she doesnt want to help me. Do you think it would be okay to introduce them again, on a leash, in my backyard?
I walked the both of them, with my sister, on Saturday and it went pretty well except for a couple of times when Lucy growled at Brandi and one time actually leaped onto her. I pulled her away fast enough so nothing happened.
But do you think I can do a good intro in the backyard so that my sister doesnt have to do much walking during the week??

THANKS!!

I think that is wonderful that you are taking the time to love and train this stray dog. I think it would be good to let them have supervised time together till they get used to each other. I would keep them both on a leash just in case though.

It sounds to me like you are doing everything you possibly can, and everything I would do, in your place. The only additional suggestion I have would be to offer Lucy a treat whenever she is calm and quiet in Brandi's presence. Do keep them on leash when they are together, until they can get along well reliably, and separate them at the first indication of trouble. It will take time, so don't give up. You're doing great!

Gradually socialize her with other dogs and humans too... and teach her the No command so that whenever she starts to be aggressive you can stop her by giving the no command. There are many resources on the net, you can search youtube for some free video tutorials on how to train your dog.
