ok i have a husky x GSD and hes 17 weeks now...i dont kno why he keeps peeing in his crate..i go to bed late..so i take him out right b4 i go to bed...which is like 1 am to 2am.i get up to get my oldest son on the bus by 8:18 am...and i have it blocked off...why does he pee? i heard on some training dvd that u add one hour per dogs age...liam is 4 months so he can go 5 hours?? is that a long time?? been soooo long since i had a puppy this young...

How large is the crate? What is in the crate with your puppy? Are you taking him out or letting him out at bedtime? (the reason I ask is that only way to know for sure that he is going outside is if you are there with him). When is his last meal before bed? Last drink? There all make a difference in how crate training goes? Where is he from? (dogs from shelters and petshops can take longer to crate train as they are forced to potty in crates/runs)

he has no blanket or stuffed toys in his crate. just some chew bones. he crate is big but i have a block off wall it came with..and i let him out right b4 i got to bed. if he sleeps with me he wont pee until i let him out...its so weird..and he was adpoted from the shelter. i sometimes go to bed at 1 or 2 am and then let him out a 730 8 am and he has peed =(..and he doesnt eat or drink b4 bed i tried that one...but this morning it was dry for once...but he usually has an accident...only when hes in the crate though...and i take him out..our fence isnt finished yet lol so he goes everytime! weird lol

Why do you only "sometimes" let him sleep with you? He must think it's okay to go in the crate but I doubt he likes it. Dogs don't like to go in their beds and if the crate is the right size for him {with the block off wall} then that is exactly what he is doing. Maybe he is just sad in the crate. If he behaves and does everything correctly when he gets to sleep with you then I think you should let him sleep with you all the time. If not then you are just sending him mixed signals. Either way, it should be all the time so the pooch knows what to expect.
