Default Extremely lazy bathroom behavior ... plz hlp

Hi everyone, I have a 5 month old Bull Mastiff and he always poops laying down lol.

He will lay on his side and poo and just let it plop on the ground behind him, and of coarse as he moves around it gets on him. I have to wash his bum like a child every couple of hours other wise flys gather around his bum. He also always has poo hanging from his bum as he never seems to cut it off.

I am unable to watch him all day so I cannot run and pick him up and take him to the back yard everytime i see him do this behavior, we live in the country on an acerage but he seems to like to hold the back door step down for us all day and dosent wonder much.

Will he grow out of this? What can I do to help train him to actually move when he has to go to the bathroom?

Also, when ever he gets a treat which is normally 2 - 3 times a day, he pee's like crazy non stop untill he is empty, this is not so bad as I call him up the yard first to give him his treat, so he does pee on the grass. He also does this when ever a new person comes to our home or if we have gone out for a few hours and come back.

Is this normal for a puppy? Do you think I am doing somthing wrong?

Thank you in advance guys, this seems liek a real nice forum.

Chad

This is not typical of a puppy his age-- he seems way too lethargic. Get him in to the vet asap--by Tuesday, at the latest. Insist on some blood work.

I agree, he probably can't control what he is doing. He defiently needs to go to a veterinarians soon.
