Default Help! I think my dog is peeing in his crate due to anxiety. Suggestions?

Hi, I'm new to the site. I've got a 9 month old labradoodle that I've had for a month. He doesn't really like going in his crate . . . I tried ALL of the suggestions on crating, but he just didn't bite. So, after 3 weeks, I had to finally start putting him in there. Now, he's fine in there overnight when I'm the room, but he starts crying if I put him in there during the day. I've only left him for an hour or so at a time, but almost every time I get back, he's peed in the crate and is soaking wet. I take him out immediately before crating and after. He's not 100% house trained either, but he's close. The crate is not to big, I've tried with and without bedding, etc, etc. I just can't be with him 24 hours/day and need some help here. My room and my dog are really starting to stink!

I'm having the same kind of problem with my new (rescue) dog. I went back to square one and tried 10 seconds in the crate, out. 20 seconds in, out. After 3 weeks we're up to 20 min without freaking out, but I have to go back to work in a week and I'm not sure what's going to happen!

Have you tried cleaning the crate with an anti-enzyme product? Maybe he can still smell the pee and he thinks it's his place to go.

Let me know if anything works!

i am not really much help with advice on how to stop the problem as i have never used a create. but when my dog was paralised and had no control over his bladder we used belly bands. they were a strap of material with a waterproof backing and quilted on the inside and fastened with velcro.
i could only find them on the american ebay, so i made lots of my own. we also used nappies strapped on sideways
hope it helps
