Default Hello Everyone!

Hello everyone, just joined the forum, Ive been searching around for a few days now. I do have one question. Is it to late to start obedient training on a almost 2 year old golden retriever. She already plays fetch and will sit, but not stay. She will shake and lay down. I really want to be able to take her on walks with out a leash and to tell her to stay and she will. She is very hyper. I have alot of time on my hands now too. I work whats called an 18 day rotation. I work 5 on, 4 off, 5 on, 5 off, 4 on, 5 off. Then its starts all over again.
thanks for your help,
Jr
