Well, yesterday, for the first time, my 3 1/2-month old pup clearly asked me to take her outside!
She's always had a clue about what I wanted her to do when I took her for her regular walks, but we were still having occasional accidents in the house.
Yesterday, she started whining urgently at me, and since it wasn't time for her walk, I got up to see what she wanted. She led me straight to the back door where her leash was hanging... and, yup! She had to GO RIGHT NOW!
It's been a long (and somewhat messy!) few weeks since I got her, and this is the first sign I've had that she's starting to really catch on. For a while it looked like she was doing her business simply because I took her outside (Pavlovian reaction), but now she KNOWS.
I can't tell you how delighted and proud I am to see that the "accident" ratio is starting to drop!
