2 Potty Training at once
I recently got 2 Beagle Pups. They are adorable and I love them to death. At this point they are almost 3 months old (11 weeks). One is a girl and one is a boy from the same litter. The little girl at this point goes days without making a mistake in the house. The little boy is being more of a challenge and I just want to make sure and do it right. One problem I have is taking them to potty at the same time all they want to do is play together and they forget about going potty (but when I take one out at a time the other one howls like they are being murdered), but they have at this point learned the "go potty" command. I have 3 months off from work ATM so I can monitor them constantly. I walk them often about every 2 hr unless they are asleep, but sometimes the little boy even if he went pee pee outside and a good one cause I watch, he will within 30 min of coming back inside sometimes go again. As I am home I am able to catch him in the act 90% of the time and I tell him NO!!!, as I grab him by the scruff of his neck (you know the loose skin behind his neck that their Mama uses) and also use my other hand to pickup his hind quarters and immediately take him outside. I also really praise them like crazy when they go outside to the point where passers by almost look at me like a crazy person. I tried the potty pads for him which he will use but now he thinks all rugs and towels that I put for him to sleep on are potty pads. So I stopped using them. Also people say to watch the dog for warning signs like circling or sniffing the ground but they are beagles and they are always circling and sniffing the ground. I confine them to the kitchen days if I need to run out and they rarely have an accident and confine them to the bathroom at night and they sometimes go all night w/o an accident. It is almost like they have more accidents when I am around.
Any tips or advice would be appreciated
