I've rescued my dog who is apparently abused by humans and bullied by some other dogs before. His socialization was badly developed, and always be panic-stricken with other dogs and humans. After a month he's begun to develop some confidence on me.

I want to give him an obedience training as I've heard that it can help building up confidence and mental health for a dog, but i have no experience on this (no handler is available in my community) . I'm reading some materials online but can you give me advice on an abused dog like this?
