Default dog messing the floor now that new baby is home

well, 4 1/2 months ago my husband and i had our first child - and ever since then we've been dealing with poo and pee on an almost daily basis.
we have 2 dogs. lulu, a shih tzu, 7 years old -- and maya, a lab/rott mix, 6 years old. they were both house broken, fabulous babies - and then our human baby came along and now maya poos and pees up to twice a day! and she does it either while we're at work or asleep so we can't catch her in the act. 2 nights ago, we let the girls out before we went to bed at 9, at midnight i got up to feed the baby and let the girls out again, at 5am i got up again to feed the baby and there was a massive pee puddle on the floor in the bedroom!!! it had been 5 hours, my goodness!
yesterday, i let the girls out before i went to work, when my husband came home at lunch, there was pee and poo from maya in the hallway. he let them out again before he went back to work. when i came home around 5:30 there was MORE maya pee AND poo as well as lulu pee on the floor in the living room!!! this is getting ridiculous! lulu doesn't do it as often as maya - and i know they're doing it b/c of jealousy and all that - but does anyone have any ideas on how to help?? we still have a crate for maya, but i just hate that in order to keep our floors clean we'd have to go back to crating her like we did when she was a puppy (and she'd spend all day and all night in a crate with only a few hours "out" time). should we maybe think about making her an "outside while we're at work" dog? i can't just make her an outside dog, that's just not my style and putting her outside while at work would be pushing it - but we have hardwood floors and a baby that's getting ready to start crawling and we can't have her accidentally pick up a dog turd or something - know what i mean?? help? any ideas?

Sounds like they are jealous of your baby or something. Wow, I haven't heard of anything like that happening. I know this will sound kind of cruel, but my only idea would be to keep them outside while you are away. That is what I would do. Sorry if this isn't much help, but good luck!

Perhaps you could just confine them to one room, say the living area during the day? This way they are inside but don't have the run of the house. I know what you mean when you say you don't want to have to crate them all day or keep them outside - it sort of defeats the purpose of having them in the first place!
Are you still giving them the same attention that they were getting before the baby arrived? Maybe some quality one on one time everyday would show them they are still your "babies"

Sounds to me as if your dog is really feeling ignored which is normal with a new baby in the house. Someone needs to pay attention to the dog while the other one tends to the baby. The poor thing is feeling as if he doesn't count anymore. It isn't his/her fault that you had a baby. The dog was there first. I don't wonder that the dog is acting up!!!
